Banksy

The film that we are watching at the moment is called Banksy exit through the gift shop. This film/documentry is about street art and how it was created and how it has formed into what it stands for today. There are many artist in this film like, Shepard Fairy, Space Invader, Mr Brainwash, Banksy and many more. This film was made for the artist to give the public a better view on what street art is and what it stands for. I really like the way how all the artist have created their own unique style onto well known images like Space Invader created space invaders using a tyle as a baseplate and rubix cube pieces to create the effect of the image. Shepard Fairy uses a classic image of a wrestlers from the late 1900 hundreds he altered this image using photoshop to add the shadows into it and make it stand out more with the sticker OBEY on the bottom.

Banksy uses his own complete style which nobody had seen before he was around he influenced street art to the public with his insane art sculptures and art images. Two pieces of his work in the film stand out to me the most and they are the Phone Booth sculpture life-size sculpture of a Guantanamo Bay inmate at Disneyland. This life-size sculpture took an hour and a half to be noticed by the disneyland security and by then Banksy was long gone and nobody suspected it was him. This film is really inspiring to me and the public that are into street art.

Mr.Brainwash In my eyes is a sell out he was treated well by everybody he knew like Banksy. Shepard Fairy, Space Invader and many more. He skipped the whole being an artist studying and practicing his skills for years he just jumped to making a museum with all of his work and have an exhibition to get noticed he also asked Banksy and Shepard Fairy to advertise his work for him he was only looking for hype and reputation instead of skill and respect by other street artist.
